Who is allowed to place patent offers on patentportal-berlin.de?
Anyone with authority to license or sell intellectual property rights is allowed to offer them on patentportal-berlin.de. ipal GmbH will not verify your authorisation to license or sell IP. Every user assumes responsibility for their own actions.
How can I place patent offers or patent requests on patentportal-berlin.de?
First create a company account by registering with us. The patentportal-admin will activate your account. After that you can log in at any time with your email-address and password to place patent offers or requests. The menu bar will lead you through your input options (see also further below “Edit your company info”, “List your patent offers”, “List your patent requests”, “New patent offer”, “New patent request”).
I registered but I got no mail from the admin about the successful registering process.
patentportal-berlin strives to hold the registering process as quick as possible. In the interest of all concerned we personal check all registrations. This may take only a few minutes or up to several hours depending on the weekday and workload. We apologize for any inconvenience.
I entered patent offers but they didn’t appear on patentportal-berlin.de.
The same as for registration applies: If you have entered patent offers (or requests), the patentportal-admin checks if there are no “contra bonos mores” issues.
Do I have to register, if I only want to search patent offers?
No! The search of patent offers is possible without being registered.
I ordered an e-mail alert but I got no offers per mail.
The e-mail alert is selected by your chosen categories. You will get mail only if there are new offers relating to your categories. The default setting for e-mail alerts is weekly.
“Special characters” are not shown correctly.
Normally special characters such as “Umlaute” or “ß” etc. are correctly shown. If not, one possibility is that text was copied from a word document and pasted it into the input mask - in this case the special characters were changed into “cryptic font”. To avoid that please type the text again without pasting it.
FAQ to the Input Options
Edit your company info: A company account is created once with contact data concerning the primary contact person. There is one main contact who edits all offers or requests for a company. If there are different contact people for the individual patent offers, then their contact data can be entered using the menu bar on the left (“Edit contacts” or “New contact”). All these contacts are administered with one company account maintained by the primary contact person. (It’s also possible to create multiple accounts per company. But then care must be used with the options “list your patent offers” or “show only our abstracts” – which show offers & abstracts associated only with that particular company account.) By administering multiple contact persons within one account all patent offers for one company can be displayed together. A specific contact is assigned to an offer by selecting them via the pull down menu.
List your patent offers: The default setting is to “show only our abstracts”. This may also be selected at any time to have quick access to abstracts from only your company, for easy maintenance (edit, delete).
List your patent requests: see above
New patent offer: You can enter a new patent offer by using the input mask. Almost all fields have to be completed (only project number is optional). If desired you also can upload an additional PDF ( e.g patent text or other material).
New patent request: see above – an additional PDF upload is not possible.
